Doubles Pair Tops Ranked Foe, Makes Flight Final at Ivy Plus

Seven of Princeton's nine first-round singles matches went the Tigers' way and two of the team's four doubles pairs advanced to their flight finals as play opened Friday for the Ivy Plus event at the Lenz Tennis Center.

The tournament will continue Saturday with two rounds of singles beginning at 8:30 a.m. Play will also start at 8:30 a.m. Sunday for one round of doubles followed by one round of singles.
In doubles play, Ryan Seggerman and Damian Rodriguez won twice, including getting an 8-3 first-round win over Illinois' 25th-ranked Alex Brown and Caleb Chakravarthi before defeating Harvard's Brian Shi and Logan Weber 8-5 to make Sunday's final against Columbia's eighth-ranked pair of Jack Lin and William Matheson. Seggerman, a sophomore, also found success in last year's Ivy Plus, defeating two ITA-ranked opponents in singles.
