January 31, 2019 | Field Hockey
PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton Tigers have hired Hannah Prince as an assistant coach, head coach Carla Tagliente announced today.
Â
"I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to join the Princeton field hockey coaching staff alongside two of the nation's top coaches," said Prince. "I want to thank athletic director Mollie Marcoux Samaan and head coach Carla Tagliente for this amazing opportunity and for welcoming me into the Tiger Family. I am excited to start working with this team of talented, hardworking student-athletes!"
Â
"Hannah is one of the up and coming young coaches in college field hockey," said Tagliente. "Her experience playing on the international stage and her time at St. Joseph's has helped her to develop in all facets of the game. She will be an excellent addition to the program and we are excited to welcome her to Princeton.
Â
Prince had spent the previous two seasons as an assistant at St. Joe's where the Hawks reached new heights. In both her campaigns, the Hawks won the Atlantic-10 Regular Season and Postseason Championships, reaching the NCAA Tournament each year. The 2017 St. Joe's squad made program history as it was the school's first NCAA bid.
Â
The assistant also spent two years at the University of New Hampshire, helping the group to a pair of American East Championship games.
Â
Prince has also seen action on the international stage, receiving seven caps for the United States National Squad. She is currently the captain of the U.S. National Indoor Team and most recently played in the Croatia Cup in January of 2019.
Â
Coached by Tagliente at UMass, Prince graduated in 2014 after a stellar senior season that included NFHCA All-Region First Team and A-10 All-Conference First Team accolades. An A-10 All-Rookie Team selection in 2010, Prince wrapped up her collegiate career with three conference titles, highlighted by an appearance in the NCAA Elite Eight in 2013.
