No. 12 Princeton Heads To Arizona For 2019 Season Opening Weekend

PRINCETON, N.J. – The No. 12 Princeton Tigers are set for the 2019 season to get underway at the Arizona State Challenge on Feb. 1 and 2.
Princeton opens up the challenge with the host No. 7 Arizona State (1 p.m.) and No. 25 Azusa Pacific (6:30 p.m.) tomorrow. The Tigers wrap up competition on Saturday vs. No. 10 UC-Santa Barbara (11 a.m.) and CSU-Monterey Bay (4 p.m.).
Each game during the ASU Challenge will feature live stats while the contest vs. Arizona State can be streamed. Check out the schedule with links to each contest here.
Princeton made the 2018 CWPA Championship Game, marking the sixth time in the last seven seasons it had reached the 20-win milestone. The Tigers won 12 games vs. ranked opponents and six contests vs. California teams. Princeton had one of its signature victories in program history, taking down No. 9 Michigan during the regular season, ending the Wolverines' 24-game conference streak.
Some of the top returners this season are Lindsey Kelleher and Marissa Webb, who earned CWPA All-Conference second team accolades in 2018. Derek Ellingson was promoted to women's water polo head coach in June of 2018.
USC sits at the top of the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Varsity Poll, followed by Stanford, UCLA, Calif., and Hawaii. Michigan, the top CWPA squad, is tied for No. 8.
