Princeton Posts 3-0 Shutout Over Lehigh
October 15, 2019 | Men's Soccer
Junior Jack Roberts made four saves, including one on a penalty shot to lift Princeton a 3-0 win over Lehigh on Tuesday night on Myslik Field at Roberts Stadium.
Senior Danny Hampton and junior Frankie DeRosa each scored, while freshman Daniel Diaz Bonilla had a goal and an assist.
DeRosa put the Tigers on the board in the 17th minute on a Princeton counter attack. Freshman Walker Gillespie made his way up the right flank and centered the ball to DeRosa who settled the ball to Diaz Bonilla. DeRosa made a move around the defender to recollect the ball and fire in the first goal of the game.

For the second straight game, Hampton converted on a restart, bending the ball in from the top of the box, around the wall and past keeper Ian Marshall in the 41st minute.

At the close of the first half, Lehigh was awarded a penalty kick but Roberts would keep the Mountain Hawks off the board. Guessing correctly with a dive to the left side denying Michael Tahiru, Roberts is the third Princeton goalkeeper to stop a penalty shot this season. He joins Jacob Schachner (vs. Duke) and Mohamed Abdelhamid (vs. FDU) in stellar point-blank one-on-ones.

Diaz Bonilla increased the lead when he got a deflection off of a Kevin O'Toole blocked shot and buried it into the lower right corner.
