Tigers, Lions Draw at Roberts
October 19, 2019 | Women's Soccer
In the final game under the lights for the Princeton women's soccer senior class, one of their own had the team's goal as the Tigers and Columbia played to a 1-1 draw.
Olivia Kane saw that senior, Abby Givens, on the doorstep of the goal in the 21st minute, and Givens sent it home to put the Tigers on top.
Â
The 1-0 lead lasted until the 48th minute, when Shira Cohen took a pass along the 18-yard stripe and went to goal to tie the game.
The tie was Princeton's third of the season, and it came in the team's fourth overtime game of 2019.Â
Princeton will be on the road for two of its final three in the run through the Ivy League, heading to Harvard next Saturday for a 3 p.m. game before hosting Cornell for the final home game of the season on Nov. 2.
Postgame Notes
• Princeton maintains the lead in the all-time series with the Lions at 22-8-5.
• Givens' goal was her first since the last of a 12-goal season in 2017, a goal that came in the NCAA quarterfinals at UCLA.Â
