Princeton Chase Wraps Up Fall Season For Rowing Teams

The Princeton Chase featured banner performances for the women's crew and lightweight groups to finish off the fall competition for the Princeton rowing teams.
The Tigers' women crew squad took the best time in first round of races (14:37.57) by almost 14 seconds over Brown (14:51.66). The group's second boat was fourth (15:05.18) and third group was 12th (15:29.82) among 47 entries. The lightweight squad secured fifth overall (15:15.21), distancing itself from Georgetown (15:27.96) and Radcliffe (15:35.71).
The second attempt was another impressive outing as the crew team had four of the top eight times, finishing first (15:16.01), second (15:30.67), seventh (16:06.76) and eighth (16:17.71). The lightweight group was third overall (15:42.62), more than 47 seconds faster than Radcliffe.
The men's heavyweight 8+ boat recorded the second fastest time among 50 competitors during the first round of time trials (12:57.16) and placed another boat inside the top ten (13:15.63, sixth). Dartmouth had the top time (12:52.75). During round two, the Tigers, again, crossed the finish line with the second quickest time (13:12.32) just trailing Dartmouth (12:57.61). Two more boats had top-10 places (13:21.89, fifth, 13:45.19, 10th).
The Tigers' lightweight unit earned a third-best time (13:18.35) behind Penn (13:09.70) and Cornell (13:14.93) in round one. It followed with the speediest mark in round two (13:40.92) with other boats that was 10th (14:22.76) and 11th (14:24.25).
