Late-Season Match Sees Firsts as Princeton Tops Drexel
October 30, 2019 | Women's Soccer
Freshman Kamryn Loustau scored her first collegiate goal, senior Kelli Calhoun made her collegiate debut in goal, and Princeton got its first win over Drexel in the series' short history Wednesday night at Roberts Stadium.
It was the Tigers' final non-league game of the season, and it came just three days before Princeton will host Cornell in the 2019 home finale. That game is set for a 1 p.m. start Saturday.
Princeton didn't wait long to get on the board against the Dragons, with Tomi Kennedy sending a pass forward for Loustau, who got around a defender and into a one-on-one battle with keeper Libby Baeza that Loustau won with a strike across the goal and inside the right post.
After sophomore Grace Barbara completed a scoreless first half with one save made, Calhoun took over after halftime and made three saves to complete the shutout.
Princeton and Drexel met for the first time last season, with the teams drawing 0-0 at Princeton's Class of 1952 Stadium.
