Princeton Makes Trip To Boston For Ivy Heps

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton Tigers head up to Boston for the 2019 Ivy League Indoor Heptagonal Championships this weekend.

Sprints/Hurdles
Katie DiFrancesco secured one of the 10 best times in the Ivy League in the 60m (7.66), which is also the fourth quickest in program history. DiFrancesco also registered the fastest time in the 200m (24.50), placing her fourth in the Ancient Eight and all-time in the Princeton record book. Isabella Hilditch is right outside the top 10 among conference foes (24.93).
Ashley Willingham (56.42) and Heide Baron (56.54) have two of the 10 quickest marks in the 400m in the Ivies. Willingham's mark is seventh fastest in Tigers' history while Baron's top speed in 2017 (56.50) is 10th.
In the 60m hurdles, Ellie Randolph (8.59) and Hilditch (8.59) already sit inside the top 10 in the conference and have the third quickest speeds by a Tiger.
Middle Distance/Distance
Carly Bonnet is 10th amid the conference runners in the 500m (1:14.95), good for seventh all-time. Jackie Berardo is one spot behind her on the list in eighth (1:15.13). Allison Glossinger registered points for Princeton at last winter's Heps.
Princeton will seek a lot of points in the 800m as it has five runners inside the Ivy League's top 15. Anna Jurew ran the fifth speediest mark (2:09.37) at the FastTrack Invite, a run that also puts her fifth among all Princeton competitors. Berardo sits 10th amid Ivy competition (2:10.34), but fourth on the Tigers' indoor track record book (2:09.23). She was a runner-up in this event in 2018. Alie Fordyce (2:11.19), Madison Offstein (2:11.32) and Sophie Cantine (2:11.35) secured among the 15 best scores in the league.
At the HYP, Jurew sprinted to the second-best Ivy 1,000m time (2:46.90) while Offstein's score was fourth (2:47.20). At the Navy Invite, Fordyce (2:48.17) and Cantine (2:48.71) had marks inside the top 10. All-time, five current runners (Jurew, Fordyce, Cantine, Offstein and Sumner) have a personal-best among the best ever. Jurew earned points in this event last winter.
The Tigers sport four runners within the best 15 conference marks in the mile, highlighted by Gillian Wagner (4:43.94). Fordyce (4:45.23) and Cantine (4:45.33) just behind her while Melia Chittenden (4:49.81) is 13th and Offstein is right outside the top 15 (4:50.38). Wagner, Fordyce and Cantine's personal-bests are among the 10 fastest ever recorded by a Tiger. Cantine and Offstein nabbed points for the Tigers in 2018.
Princeton has five more runners in the conference's top 12 times for the 3,000m, highlighted, again, by Wagner (9:29.50). Chittenden and Offstein (9:29.96) aren't far behind her while Allie Klimkiewicz was ninth (9:32.73) and Peyton Brown (9:34.81) is 12th. Brown was a scorer at this race last winter.
Klimiewicz had third lowest mark in the league in the 5,000m with a 16:30.06 at the Valentine Invite. She was seventh last season in this event as Chittenden was eighth.
Jumps
Emma Daugherty was tied for 10th in the Ancient Eight in the high jump this winter (1.70m). That watermark is also tied for eighth in Princeton history. Lindsey Schmidt was tied for seventh at the 2018 winter heps (1.66m).
The Tigers have one of the best pole vaulters in the conference in Hanne Borstlap. She secured the best score of the winter (4.00m), also third on the all-time list. Her lowest top mark this season was 3.75m, but had four events with at least 3.90m.
Randolph sits with the best long jump of the campaign for Princeton (5.59m), though her personal-record is second all-time (5.86m). She was eighth in the long jump in 2018 and scored points in 2017. The Tigers had five other jumpers with jumps over 5.00m (Kajsa Souter, Kerri Davidson, Katie Barnett, Kara Steele, Frances Lodge).
Davidson recorded the best triple jump between the Tigers (12.08m) this winter. Her 12.27m in 2018 is third all-time. She scored for Princeton in 2016 and 2018 at this event. Steele (11.85m) and Barnett (11.77m) are among the conference's top 15. Steele, who's fifth in the record book (12.11m) had points for the Tigers in the triple jump last winter while Barnett was eighth.
Throws
Princeton has three among the greatest in program history at the shot put in Obiageri Amaechi, Julia Harisay and Jalah Morris. Amaechi is third (15.66m), Harisay is sixth (13.69m) while Morris is 10th (12.98m). Among Ivy throwers, Amaechi is second, Harisay is 10th and Morris is 14th. Amaechi was fifth at Heps last winter.
Luisa Chantler Edmond (16.86m) and Ellen Scott-Young (16.51m) sport top-10 conference scores in the weight throw. Both are also among the best in Tigers' history as Edmund is sixth and Scott-Young is seventh.
Multis
Souter had the second highest score in the pentathlon (3637) in the Ivy League and Lodge was fifth (3470). Schmidt (2918) placed 10th and Mikaela Sawyer was 11th (2829). Souter (fifth) and Lodge (sixth) have posted some of the top marks ever by a Princeton competitor. Lodge snagged a point for the Tigers in 2018.
Relays
The 4x400 relay group of Baron, Hilditch, Willingham and Bonnet (3:45.76) secured the third quickest mark in program history at the Sykes and Sabock Challenge Cup earlier this month. Another group of DiFrancesco, Baron, Willingham and Bonnet secured the seventh quickest time.
Princeton posted the best 4x800 (Berardo, Cantine, Jurew and Fordyce) relay time (8:51.78) in the conference by almost nine seconds this winter. Jurew helped the 4x800 team score points in 2016 and 2018 and take home the title in 2017. Berardo was a member of the 4x800 indoor championship run in 2016 and 2017, while helping the Tigers pick up points last season. Cantine (2018) and Fordyce (2016) led Princeton to points in this event respectively.
The Tigers ran the distance medley relay (Offstein, Berardo, Fordyce and Cantine) once in the winter at the Navy Invite (11:25.66). It was eighth fastest all-time. Offstein was part of the DMR that scored in 2018 while Berardo's DMR squad scored in 2016.
