Tigers No. 14 in CWPA Varsity Poll, To Host Princeton Invite This Weekend

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton Tigers will host the annual Princeton Invitational this weekend with two matchups vs. Iona (10 a.m.) and St. Francis-Brooklyn (6 p.m.) on Saturday.
The Tigers went 2-2 at the Arizona State Challenge, dropping decisions to No. 7 Arizona State, UC-Santa Barbara, but earning wins over No. 25 Azusa Pacific and CSU-Monterey Bay. Lindsey Kelleher and Eliza Britt led the squad in scoring during the trip, each posting seven goals. Kelleher added six helpers while Amy Castellano contributed 10 points (five goals, five assists). Marissa Webb started three times for the Tigers, picking up a .509 save percentage.
Head coach Derek Ellingson's group dropped to No. 14 in the latest Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Varsity Poll. The top three remained the same from the previous week with USC, Stanford and UCLA leading the way.
Princeton is 19-1 all-time against Iona, last losing to the Gales in 2009. The Tigers have not lost to St. Francis-Brooklyn in four meetings all-time.
After the Princeton Invitational, the Tigers will travel to Villanova the following week (Feb. 16).
