Wisconsin, No. 15/17 ASU Top Princeton as ASU Event Begins
March 01, 2019 | Softball
Against Wisconsin, seven Tigers split the team's seven hits, but the Badgers built a lead with two runs in each of the first two innings before widening it to 8-0 with four in the fourth. Princeton got on the board with a run in the bottom of the fourth when Haley Hoffman followed a Mackenzie Meyer double with a single, and in the fifth, Princeton scored when Keeley Walsh hit her first homer of the year.
Against ASU, Princeton scored in the top of the first when two walks and a hit batter put Mikayla Blaska in position for a bases-loaded walk, but the Sun Devils were clicking on offense and took a 12-1 lead into the fourth. In that inning, Kaitlyn Waslawski tripled following a walk to Blaska, and then Alex Colón picked up Waslawski with a base hit. The Tigers then drew back-to-back walks and Kaylee Grant brought both home with a base hit for a four-run inning.
Princeton will face No. 9/10 Texas (live stats) at 10 a.m. local/12 p.m. ET before facing Arizona State (video | live stats) at 3 p.m. local/5 p.m. ET.
