March 12, 2019 | Men's Basketball
As they prepare for the Ivy League Tournament, senior Myles Stephens and junior Richmond Aririguzoh have earned All-Ivy League honors, the league office announced Tuesday.
Stephens is now the 23rd player in program history to earn at least two All-Ivy League honors and first since Ian Hummer '13. It is Stephens' third All-Ivy recognition overall, including the 2017 first-team honor and second-team recognition last year.
Stephens enters the Ivy League Tournament as Princeton's leading scorer on the season by points scored, with his 353 points averaging out to 13.6 a game. He added a team-best and career-high 6.5 rebounds a game to that total and shared team-high block honors with Aririguzoh at 19 each for the season to date. Stephens stands 10th in scoring on the program's all-time list at 1,332 points and has achieved a career-high five double-doubles this season.
Aririguzoh earns his first All-Ivy honor in a breakout season that has seen him play 25.5 minutes a game, shoot .691 from the field and .761 from the stripe, grab 6.3 rebounds a game and score 11.6 points a game. Over his first two years at Princeton, Aririguzoh averaged 7.8 minutes a game, shot .551 from the field and .447 from the line, and averaged 1.5 rebounds and 2.3 points a game. Aririguzoh has had three double-doubles this season, including one last weekend with 20 points and 11 boards against Brown to tie his career highs.Â
Stephens, Aririguzoh and the Tigers will begin the Ivy League Tournament Saturday when they host Yale at 3 p.m. on ESPNU.
