Khosla, Young Head To Texas Seeking All-America Finish To Impressive Tiger Seasons

NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL
Freshman Raunak Khosla and sophomore Colten Young have made the trip to Austin, Texas, to compete at the 2019 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships, which are set to be held March 27-30 at the Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center. Both Princeton competitors will compete in three events apiece over the weekend and will try to bring Princeton its first individual All-America finish since 2012 (Jon Christensen '12).
Khosla, the standout freshman of the 2018-19 Ivy League season, enters his first NCAA Championships off the momentum of a brilliant conference weekend. Khosla won Ivy titles in both the 200 IM and 200 fly, and he finished second in the 400 IM final. He is set to compete in those three events in Texas, starting Thursday in the 11 am ET (10 am local) preliminary session when he will swim his best event, the 200 IM. Khosla enters the weekend with the NCAA's 12th-fastest time in the event of 1:42.80, which broke Teo D'Alessandro's Princeton record by more than 1.5 seconds.
Should Khosla post one of the top 16 preliminary times, he would be assured All-America status (the top eight spots are first-team honorees, the next eight earn honorable mention). The Thursday finals would begin at 7 pm ET, 6 pm local, and would be streamed on ESPN3 here.
Both Friday and Saturday will follow the same schedule for both preliminaries and finals.
On Friday, Khosla will swim the 400 IM, where he has the NCAA's 17th-fastest time of 3:42.34, which broke Corey Okubo's team record by more than 1.5 seconds. On Saturday, he rounds out his weekend in the 200 fly, an event in which he broke assistant coach Doug Lennox's team record and has the 25th-fastest time of 1:42.05. The Friday finals will be streamed here, while the Saturday finals will be streamed here.
Live swimming results throughout the weekend can be found here.
Young, who also competed at the 2018 NCAA Championships, qualified for all three diving events during the Zone A weekend; he will open Thursday at 1:15 ET (12:15 local) in the 1-meter diving trials, and the diving All-America honors follow the same standard as the swimming ones. If Young earns a top-eight finish at prelims, he will be a first-team All-American and compete for the NCAA title during the Thursday night session; if he places between ninth and 16th, he will compete in the consolation finals shortly after the completion of the prelims.
On Friday, Young will compete in the 3-meter prelims at 1:15 ET (12:15 local), and on Saturday, he'll compete in the platform prelims at 11:00 ET (12:00 local). Princeton hasn't had a diving All-American since Kent DeMond '07 took the honor in 2006 on the platform.
Young placed in the Top 40 in all three events last year, and he finished as high as 30th on the platform. Live diving results can be found here.
