Princeton Heads to Harvard This Weekend

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton Tigers head to Cambridge, Mass., to take on the Harvard Crimson for the first Ivy League road trip of the season.
The series gets underway on Friday on 3 p.m. The Ivy foes wrap up the three-game set with a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 11:30 a.m.
Princeton is 4-13 in 2019 and 1-2 in the Ivy League. The Tigers lost the first two games last weekend vs. Dartmouth, but rebounded with an 8-2 victory on Sunday. Andrew Gnazzo pitched eight innings for the first time in his career and set a new personal-high with 11 strikeouts. Nadir Lewis led the Tigers with three hit and two runs while Max West produced four RBI in the victory.
Jake Boone leads the squad in hitting (.338) while Chris Davis (.479) leads the group in slugging along with nine extra base hits. Nadir Lewis has produced a .400 on-base percentage, a team best. David Harding's 10 RBI highlights the offense.
Ryan Smith has produced the best ERA (3.33) on the pitching staff, securing 29 strikeouts in 24 1/3 innings. James Proctor has punched out 24 hitters in 17 1/3 frames while Andrew Gnazzo has 25 strikeouts in 23 1/3 innings.
Harvard is 11-5 this season, picking up wins over Wofford, Radford, Seton Hall, St. Joe's, Rutgers, Penn and Holy Cross. The Crimson took two out of three at Penn last weekend. Patrick McColl is hitting .507, the best average in the country while his .944 slugging percentage is the third best. He is on a seven-game multi-hit streak and has six home runs. Jake Suddleson is hitting with a .381 average, five home runs and 22 RBIs.
After this series, the Tigers travel to Monmouth on Wednesday (Apr. 3) before a three-game affair vs. Columbia at Clarke Field (Apr. 6-7).
