Harvard Picks Up Win Over Princeton

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard Crimson picked up a 12-0 victory over the Princeton Tigers at O'Donnell Baseball Field on Friday afternoon.
Each team had a runner in scoring position in the second inning, but couldn't bring it in. Harvard's Ben Skinner lifted a four-bagger over the fence in left center field to put the home unit ahead, 1-0, in the next frame.
The Crimson attempted to add on in the fourth, but James Proctor got a strikeout and popup to retire the side. Jake Suddelson and Hunter Bigge had back-to-back home runs in the fifth to extend Harvard's advantage to three.
Harvard added two more runs in the sixth stanza before putting the game away with seven runs in the in the seventh inning.
Princeton's best scoring chance was in the top of the seventh frame as it loaded the bases with two out, however Bigge got strikeout to finish the at-bat.
Nadir Lewis had two hits to lead the Tigers' offense. James Proctor had six strikeouts in five innings in the loss.
Hunter Bigge, in addition to his home run, pitched seven scoreless stanzas, scattering four hits. He struck out 13 hitters in securing his third win of the season.
These two squads finish the series tomorrow (Mar. 30) with a doubleheader beginning at 11:30 a.m.
