No. 18 Princeton Nabs 11-10 Overtime Win Over No. 24 Cal-Baptist

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The No. 18 Princeton Tigers nabbed their second win over a ranked opponent this weekend with an 11-10 overtime takedown of the No. 24 Cal-Baptist Lancers at Blodgett Pool on Sunday morning.
Nicole Kresich's goal with 1:14 left in overtime was the game-winner. The meeting featured six lead changes and five ties. No team led by more than two goals over the final 34:40 of game time.
Princeton pitched a shutout for the first nine minutes of the matchup jumping in front, 3-0. Cal-Baptist rallied with three tallies in 1:27, setting the score at 3-all at the 5:20 mark. The two squads exchanged goals, settling at 5-all at halftime.
Lindsey Kelleher's tally with 18 seconds left in the third quarter gave Princeton a 7-5 advantage as the fourth stanza was about to begin. Down two, 8-6, the Lancers tied the affair twice (8-8) and (9-9) including the tying-goal with 31 seconds remaining.
In the extra session, Kelleher ripped one in the back of the cage as the clock was winding down in the first portion.
After getting within one, Cal-Baptist forced a turnover and had one last possession as the clock was expiring. Marissa Webb came up with the save as Princeton improved to 10-4 overall.
Head coach Derek Ellingson's unit welcomes George Washington to DeNunzio Pool next Saturday (12 p.m.) The game will get underway at 12 p.m.
