Three Produce Hat Tricks As Princeton Pulls Away From George Washington, 14-8

PRINCETON, N.J. – Three different players had hat tricks as the Princeton Tigers handled the George Washington Colonials, 14-8, at DeNunzio Pool on Saturday afternoon.
Laura Larkin, Eliza Britt and Amy Castellano each had three goals to pace the Tigers' offense. Maddie Pendolino and Lindsey Kelleher also had multi-goal games in the win.
The Tigers opened up the contest with the first three tallies before taking a 4-1 advantage into the second frame. Two consecutive goals from George Washington cut its deficit to one, 5-4, with 2:15 left in the first half, but Pendolino kept the Colonials at bay with a tally, setting the score at 6-4 at the intermission.
After the two squads exchanged scores to begin the second half, Princeton rolled off five straight to finish off the third stanza, expanding its margin to seven, 12-5. The Colonials did not threaten after that.
Princeton improves to 11-4 overall and 2-0 in the Collegiate Water Polo Association while George Washington falls to 3-4 in 2019. The Tigers will head to the West Coast next week and will begin with the Loyola Marymount Tournament (Mar. 15-16).
