EYE ON THE TIGERS
The defending ECAC Hockey Champion Princeton heads into the postseason with a 10-16-3 overall record and is 3-1-1 in its last five games. Four seniors lead the way for the Tigers with All-Americans Ryan Kuffner and Max Véronneau at the forefront. Kuffner has 20 goals and 20 assists, while Véronneau has 13 goals and 23 assists. Linemate Alex Riche adds 22 points, while defenseman Josh Teves adds 20. Junior Jackson Cressey is one point back with 19. Freshman Jeremie Forget went 2-0 last weekend and should be starting again this series. Forget is 2-0-1 and has made 94 saves and allowed four goals. Sophomore Ryan Ferland has made 24 starts while Austin Shaw has played in eight games.
MEETING IN THE PLAYOFFS
Brown is one of Princeton's most common opponents in the playoffs, having met 14 times. Princeton has the edge 8-6. The teams met up in the first-round last year at Hobey Baker Rink, with the Tigers sweeping 8-2 and 7-1.
SCOUTING THE BEARS
Brown earned the No. 8 seed in the ECAC Tournament and is home for the first time for playoffs in since 2012-13. Overall the Bears are 11-13-5. Senior Tommy Marchin leads the team offensively with 22 points on eight goals and 14 assists. Freshman Tristan Crozier has 17 points on four goals and 13 assists, junior defenseman Zach Giuttari chips in 16 and sophomore Chris Berger adds 15. Sophomore Luke Kania has started in goal in the last nine games and has a .912 save percentage and a 2.88 goals against average. He was pulled in the third period in the last game versus Princeton so chances are junior Gavin Nieto will be making an appearance this weekend. Nieto owns a .913 save percentage and a 2.40 GAA.
THE PRINCETON/BROWN SERIES
The teams split the regular season with the Bears taking a 4-2 game Hobey Baker Rink before the Tigers won 5-1 last weekend here at Meehan Auditorium. Since the teams first meeting in 1900-01 the Bears holds an 88-72-11 edge in the series. Véronneau has 16 points in 10 games against Brown, Kuffner has 14 in 10 and Cressey has 12 in eight.
