Men's Lightweight Squad Makes Trek To Philadelphia For Wood-Hammond Cup

PRINCETON, N.J. – The No. 2 men's lightweight team makes the trip to the Schuylkill River to take on the No. 5 Penn Quakers along with the No. 9 Georgetown Hoyas on Saturday afternoon (Apr. 20).
Princeton dropped its first contest of the season as No. 1 Cornell regained the Platt Cup last Saturday, edging the Tigers by 2.6 seconds. By winning the top three races, Cornell also claimed the Harriott Trophy as well. Cornell is the only boat to have wins over Princeton.
The Tigers and Quakers battle this weekend for the Wood-Hammond Cup. Princeton has won the last 13 times and leads the all-time series, 63-12. Penn has not won consecutive races against Princeton since 1977-78.
Following this contest, the Tigers host Harvard and Yale (Apr. 27), seeking its second straight Goldthwait/Vogel Cup.
