Princeton Retains Eisenburg Cup, Takes Race over No. 4 Texas and No. 9 Yale

PRINCETON, N.J. – The No. 7 nationally ranked women's open rowing team had a fabulous day at Lake Carnegie, posting the top time (6:06.0) over No. 9 Yale (6:08.8) and No. 4 Texas (6:09.0) on Saturday afternoon.

This victory gave the Tigers their 10th straight Eisenburg Cup. It was the first time that Princeton ever faced Texas in the regular season.

The Longhorns picked up the win at 2V (6:15.5) in a five-second decision over Yale (6:20.5) and at the 4V with a slim margin (7:04.3) over the Bulldogs (7:05.6). Princeton won the 3V8 battle by almost four seconds over Yale. Texas raced to a 7:10.3 in the 2V4/B4 jaunt, nabbing the top time.

Princeton has posted the quick mark in each of its four events this season. The Tigers will host Columbia, Rutgers and Wisconsin next Saturday (Apr. 27) with the Hewitt & Dauphiny Cup on the line.
