No. 7 Princeton Holds On To Hewitt & Dauphiny Cup At Lake Carnegie

PRINCETON, N.J. – The No. 7 Princeton open rowing squad battled difficult conditions with crosswinds on Lake Carnegie, but crossed the finish line with the top time (6:20.1) on Saturday afternoon.

With the win, the Tigers defeated No. 12 Wisconsin (6:23.3), No. 14 Rutgers (6:26.7) and Columbia (6:42.4), holding onto the Hewitt and Dauphiny Cup. The Tigers won two other races, recording a 5.3-second win at 2V and six-second decision at B4.

Rutgers (7:19.4) picked up the victory at V4 over Wisconsin (7:21.9), Princeton (7:28.6) and Columbia (7:51.7). The Scarlet Knights also nabbed wins at 3V8/4V8 and C4/D4.

The Tigers host No. 19 Syracuse next Saturday (May 4) before a two-week break until the Ivy League Championships (May 19).
