Four Tigers Claim Wins as Princeton Competes at TCNJ Invitational and Penn Relays

Princeton won four events as the Tigers competed at the 125th Penn Relays and the TCNJ Lions Invitaitonal - the final meets before the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships.
At Penn Relays, junior Joey Daniels qualified for the finals of the 110-meter hurdles after clocking the fifth fastest time  in the prelims with a 13.96, just off of his PR of 13.80. He placed fifth in the final on Saturday afternoon with a  14.16. Freshman Christian Brown was 11th in the prelims with a 14.31.

Senior Adam Kelly was the runner-up in the hammer throw championship with a 65.18 (213-10).

Sophomore Sam Ellis was sixth in the men's Olympic Development mile – one of three NCAA athletes in the event. He clocked a time of 4:06.47, four seconds off his PR of 4:02.93.

Freshman Jakob Kintzele was 27th in the men's steeplechase with a time of 9:14.71.

In the 4x400, the Tigers finished with a time of 3:10.96 to finish in 11th place in the prelims to qualify for the final. Greg Sholars, Cole Bransford, Connor Matthews (47.61) and Michael Phillippy (47.01) took fifth in their heat but did not compete in Saturday's final.

Brown continued competition at the TCNJ Lions Invitational with a handful of other Tigers. Brown won the 110-meter hurdles with a 14.55, beating 34 other competitors. Senior Sebastian Silveria was third with a 14.92.

Another victory came from freshman Taraje Whitfield in the 400 hurdles. He clocked a 53.44 for the win. Junior Justice Dixon was third at 55.05.

Senior Andrew Diehl claimed the win in the high jump as he matched his personal best clearance of 2.09.

In the pole vault, junior Noah Hurley was the runner up clearing 4.55.

Sophomore Drake Anzano beat out 117 others in the 1500 for the win. He was the only competitor to run a sub-4 with a 3:59.44.

Freshman Andrei Iosivas and junior JC Colangelo went 5-6 in the 100 with times of 11.00 and 11.04, respectively.

Sophomore Joe Sartini had the best time for the Tigers in the 800 at 1:57.26 to finish in fifth place. Sophomore Cole Sandvold clocked 1:59.25 and freshman Scott Thompson ran a:59.60

Princeton hosts the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships next weekend at Weaver Stadium. The Tigers look to close out the third leg of the Triple Crown, after claiming wins in cross country and indoor track & field.
