Saturday, April 13, 10:30 a.m. doubleheader:Live Stats Game 1 | Live Stats Game 2
Senior Kaylee Grant is hitting .565 (13-23) in Ivy play, one of four Tiger regulars to hit better than .400 along with junior Allison Harvey (.483, 14-29), senior Keeley Walsh (.471, 8-17)Â and junior Megan Donahey (.429, 12-28). As a team, Princeton is hitting .335 in Ivy play and holding opponents to a .196 batting average while outscoring Ivy foes 40-17. Princeton's three Ivy League losses have come by three or fewer runs, and two of those have come by one run apiece. Players beyond those four have all three of Princeton's homers in Ivy games, with sophomore Mackenzie Meyer hitting two and senior Kaitlym Waslawski hitting one.Â
Princeton's pitching staff has just a 1.49 ERA in Ivy play with rookie Ali Blanchard (2-1, 0.70) and sophomore Ali Reynolds (4-2, 1.86) throwing all but three and a third of Princeton's 61 innings in league play. Tiger players enter the week with some high national statistical rankings on the season overall, with Blanchard's 8.6 strikeouts per seven innings ranking 34th, Harvey standing as the nation's 35th-toughest player to strike out at a K per 24.7 at-bats, and Reynolds' 1.16 walks per seven innings allowed ranking 29th.Â
The Quakers have similarly strong numbers in the league, hitting .358 as a team with three players hitting .400 or better, including Emma Nedney (.478, 22-46), Sarah Ketring (17-37, .459), and Sam Pederson (.400, 18-45). The Quaker pitching staff has a 3.92 ERA with Jennifer Brann (3-2, 2.66), Julia Longo (3-1, 3.15), Abigail Abramson (2-1, 4.73) and Tabitha Dyer (1-1, 5.45) all throwing between 13 and 27 of Penn's 89 1/3 innings in league play.
The weekend will be Princeton's middle of the seven league weekends with Harvard coming to the Class of 1895 Field next weekend before the Tigers go to Cornell and Dartmouth over the final two weekends.
Each of the teams' last two series has ended in a sweep on the other's home field, with the Tigers sweeping four from the Quakers in 2017 in Philadelphia before Penn came to '95 Field and won all three games last year. Princeton has won the last five games at Penn Park, taking the last game of the teams' series there in 2015.
