Five Tigers Earn Krampade All American Scholar Honors

Five Tigers on the Princeton women's hockey team have earned Krampade All America Scholars honors it was announced by the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) on Tuesday.

The third annual honors were presented to Sharon Frankel, Karlie Lund, Stephanie Sucharda, Claire Thompson and Sarah Verbeek.

Sucharda has earned the honors all three years it has been presented. She graduated in May with a degree in economics. Lund earned her first honor as she graduated with a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering.

Rising senior Claire Thompson and rising sophomores Sharon Frankel and Sarah Verbeek earn the honors for their second consecutive seasons.

To be eligible for the honor, student-athletes must have attained a 3.60 GPA in each semester during the 2018-19 season, and participated in 40 percent of their team's games.

The 2019 Ivy League champion Princeton opens its season on Friday, Oct. 25 when it hosts Syracuse at Hobey Baker Rink at 6 p.m. Admission is free.
