Kellman’s Career Night Pushes Men's Basketball Past Rutgers-Camden, 87-41

PRINCETON, N.J. – Rutgers University-Camden had no answer for freshman Keeshawn Kellman Sunday afternoon inside Jadwin Gymnasium as his game and career-high 20 points led the Princeton University men's basketball team to victory, 87-41.
Kellman's 20 points came on 9-of-11 shooting and he also added four rebounds and a career-high two blocks. Junior Elijah Barnes added a career-high 10 points after going a perfect 4-of-4 from the field and also pulled down a career-high six rebounds. Sophomore Ethan Wright went 3-of-4 from beyond the arc on route to nine points while freshman Jacob O'Connell had career-highs in points and rebounds with five in each category. Freshman Konrad Kiszka also recorded career-highs in points and rebounds with six points and a game-high seven rebounds.
The Tigers had their most efficient night of the season as they went 34-of-55 from the field for a percentage of .618 along with an 8-of-20 effort from behind the three-point line. Princeton's 34 made field goals and 44 rebounds were both season-highs while the Tigers also dominated inside, scoring 50 points in the paint to 24 by Rutgers-Camden.
With the Tigers up 13-8 with 15:47 left in the first half, junior Jerome Desrosiers drained a three-pointer that sparked a 20-0 run, giving Princeton a 33-8 advantage following a Kellman layup with 10:40 on the clock.
Princeton would further build its lead thanks to a 9-0 run led off by a pair of Kellman free throws with 8:17 remaining in the half; the Tigers would lead 44-12 with 5:37 after a Barnes layup then a Rutgers-Camden layup with 5:15 remaining in the half would halt Princeton's run. Sophomore Drew Friberg made a pull-up jumper prior to the halftime buzzer sounding and the Tigers would take a 53-16 advantage into halftime.
While the Scarlet Raptors were able to trim Princeton's lead to under 30 with 13:54 on the clock, a layup by Kellman with 12:57 remaining saw Princeton take a 61-31 lead. His layup also sparked an 11-0 run that saw the Tigers lead 70-31 after a deep three-pointer by junior Charlie Bagin with 8:10 left to play.
O'Connell connected on a driving layup with 1:49 left to play then a three-pointer with 1:10 on the clock and Princeton would hold on for the 87-41 victory.
