Men’s Basketball Upends Dartmouth, 66-44

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University men's basketball team moved to 3-0 in Ivy League player after overcoming Dartmouth College 66-44 Friday night inside Jadwin Gymnasium.
Senior Richmond Aririguzoh led the game in scoring with 13 points on 6-of-8 shooting while tying the game-high in rebounds with eight and also handing out three assists and recording two steals. Junior Ryan Schwieger added 12 points along with a game and career-high three steals. Sophomore Ethan Wright tied the game-high and set a new season-high in rebounds with eight for Princeton.
The Tigers had an efficient night from the field, shooting 28-of-52 for a percentage of .528. Princeton had 30-27 advantage on the boards and handed out 13 assists to just seven by the Big Green.
Schwieger opened the scoring for Princeton when he backed his defender down and laid it in for two with 18:18 on the clock then Wright would knot the score at 5-5 with 16:53 left to play.
Dartmouth jumped out to a 14-11 lead, but a three-pointer by junior Jerome Desrosiers with 11:58 left in the half tied it at 14-14.
The Big Green then took a 20-19 lead, but a free throw by freshman Tosan Evbuomwan with 6:27 remaining in the half led off an 8-0 run that also featured a Schwieger layup, a three-pointer by senior Jose Morales along with a driving layup by sophomore Drew Friberg that saw the Tigers take a 27-20 lead with 3:28 left in the half. Princeton held onto its advantage and took a 32-27 lead into halftime.
Princeton continued to build its lead in the second half, extending it to double figures at 42-31 with 14:23 on the clock after a layup by Llewellyn.
The Tigers led 48-37 with 10:37 left to play but a layup by Desrosiers with 9:56 on the clock sparked a 7-0 run that included a Llewellyn three-pointer and a Schwieger layup that gave the Tigers a 55-37 advantage with 7:50 remaining.
With 1:16 on the clock junior Charlie Bagin stepped into a deep three-pointer and Princeton would hold on for the 66-44 triumph.
