Princeton Locks Down Dartmouth in 66-34 Victory

HANOVER, N.H. – The Princeton Tigers locked down defensively over the final 30 minutes of game action, running by the Dartmouth Big Green, 66-34, at Leede Arena on Friday evening.

After allowing six baskets in the first quarter, Princeton gave up eight in the final three frames, outscoring the home squad, 53-20, during that stretch. Bella Alarie led the way with 23 points and eight rebounds while Julia Cunningham also reached double figures. Taylor Baur was a game-best +29 in the victory.

Head coach Carla Berube held Dartmouth without a point for the final 3:58 of the first half and took a 31-21 lead into the break.

Princeton's defense continued to shine in the second half as Dartmouth knocked in its second basket of the third stanza with two minutes left. During that stretch, the Tigers extended its lead to 24 and ultimately took a 50-28 lead into the fourth frame. The Big Green were kept at bay the rest of the way.

This is the fourth time in the last six years that Princeton has collected at least a 10-game winning streak. The Tigers are now 14-1 overall and 2-0 in the Ivy League. Dartmouth dropped to 7-9 this season and 1-2 in conference action. Princeton finishes the weekend at Harvard tomorrow. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m. Â
