Princeton Finishes Off Ivy Weekend Sweep With 60-46 Win Over Harvard

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Princeton Tigers finished off an Ivy League weekend sweep with 60-46 takedown of the Harvard Crimson at the Lavietes Pavilion on Saturday afternoon.
Julia Cunningham led all scorers with 16 points while Bella Alarie (13) and Carlie Littlefield (10) also scored in double figures. Princeton outrebounded Harvard, 38-23, and forced 10 steals led by Littlefield four swipes.
The Tigers closed out the first stanza with a 10-0 push to take a 17-9 advantage after 10 minutes. Cunningham's mid-range jumper put Princeton ahead by double-digits (22-12) for the first time at the 6:09 mark of the second frame. Seven straight points, later on, extended the road squad's lead to 14, 29-15, with under three minutes left. A trey by Alarie gave head coach Carla Berube's unit a 32-22 advantage at halftime.
Princeton did not allow a point over the last three minutes of the third quarter, taking a 47-36 lead into the fourth frame. Berube's team began the first portion of the stanza with an 11-3 sprint to make it a 22-point affair (58-36). Harvard never threatened after that.
The Tigers now sit at 15-1 overall and 3-0 in the Ivy League, currently on an 11-game winning streak. Harvard is 11-6 this season and 1-2 in the conference. Cornell (Feb. 7) and Columbia (Feb. 8) come to Jadwin next weekend.
