SERIES INFORMATION
Tonight marks the 126th meeting all-time between Princeton and Clarkson. The Golden Knights have had the better of the all-time results with an 84-34-7 lead -- thanks in large part to a 26-2 run between 1960-86.The Tigers are 3-2-2 against Clarkson since the 2016-17 season, including a 2-1 win in overtime as Princeton claimed the 2018 ECAC championship in Lake Placid. Â
CRESSEY CONNECTS
Senior Jackson Cressey is second on the team in points with 13 through 17 games. His nine assists are tied for the team lead, and he is the only Tiger to have scored on both the power play and penalty kill this season. After going three games without a point from 11/23-30, Cressey has now notched a point in five of his last seven games, including the game-winning goal against AIC. With 107 career points, he is tied for 11th on the Tigers' all-time list and he is ten away from the No. 10 spot. He's tied for sixth on the career assists list with 77 and is two away from tying for No. 5.
ANDONOVSKI ACCUMULATES MULTI-POINT GAMES
Sophomore Corey Andonovski had two assists on 1/3 against Dartmouth -- his second consecutive game with multiple helpers. He now has six multi-point games this season and nine career multi-point games in 39 appearances.Â
GRANDE PLANS
After going five games without a point, Liam Grande found his stride in Belfast and hasn't looked back. He has six points over his last nine games, including a goal and an assist at Quinnipiac on 12/29. The multi-point effort against QU was his first since 3/2/18 against Brown in the ECAC playoffs.
GERMAIN MAN
Jeremy Germain found the back of the net against Quinnipiac on 12/28, his first goal since 2/16/18 against RPI. The goal had extra meaning for the Hamden, Conn. native and grandson of Jim Armstrong -- 14-year head coach at Quinnipiac.
KILLING IT
Princeton is 60-for-73 (82.2) on the penalty kill this season, ranking No. 22 in the country. The Tigers have killed 22 of their last 26 penalties -- including a 7-for-7 performance on 12/6 against Colorado College. Princeton was 4-for-6 on the OK against Harvard on 1/4, allowing multiple PPGs for the first time since 11/2 -- a span of 14 games.
POWERING UP
Princeton has scored a power-play goal in six of its last eight games, scoring seven total PPGs since the UNH game in Belfast. The Tigers now have at least one PPG in 11-of-17 games this season. Corey Andonovski leads the team with three power play goals while Christian O'Neill and Derek Topatigh each have two.
BETTER STARTS
After going eight games without a first period goal, Princeton has struck in the opening frame in two of its last three games. The Tigers are still being outscored, 16-7 in the first period this season.
NOTCHING THEIR FIRST
Over the last three games, four different Tigers have notched their first career goals. Defenseman Sami Pharaon recorded his first career goal last week at Quinnipiac, while fellow d-men Mike Ufberg and Pito Walton found the back of the net for the first time against Dartmouth. Finn Evans scored his first career goal against Harvard on 1/4 -- a short-handed goal.
