Princeton To Be Represented At 2020 European Rowing Championships

POZNAN, POLAND – This weekend, the Shea Rowing Center will have three members participating in the 2020 European Rowing Championships in Poland.
Greta Jaanson '23 (Open Rowing) will be a spare for Estonia as will David van Velden '25 (Men's Lightweights) for the Netherlands. Fred Vystavel '16 (Heavyweights) will be racing in the 2- pair for Denmark.
This is the third water competition for the 2020 international rowing season the European Rowing Under 23 Championships and the European Rowing Junior Championships.
The European Rowing Championships have been staged since 1893 and it is one of the longest running sport championships on the international calendar. After a hiatus from 1974, it was reinstated in 2007 and in 2018 it was part of the inaugural multi-sport European Multi-sport Championships held in Glasgow. The European Rowing Championships is open to the 46 European national rowing federations, including Israel.
Racing begins on Oct. 9 and continue through Oct. 11. The finals will be live streamed on www.worldrowing.com.
Princeton was well represented at the U-23 European Rowing Championships last month highlighted by Floyd Benedikter capturing gold for Germany's 8+ boat.
