Men’s Tennis Triumphs Over Marquette & Wisconsin
February 01, 2020 | Men's Tennis
MADISON, Wis. – The Princeton University men's tennis team moved to 4-0 on the season after picking up victories over Marquette University and the University of Wisconsin Friday inside the Nielsen Tennis Stadium.
Princeton overcome Marquette 4-3 and followed with a 6-1 win over the Badgers.
"I was extremely pleased with the performance today and particularly tonight against Wisconsin," said head coach Billy Pate. "They are well coached and play with a lot of energy and confidence on their home courts. We handled that well tonight and it was a testament to our maturity and poise from the whole lineup. It was a great team effort as doubles was very close and all the first sets were tight before we grabbed five of the sets to give us momentum.
Marquette played a great match against us and tested us in spots. It wasn't an easy day playing two good teams on the road in the same day but we'll be stronger because of it."
