No. 28 Men's Tennis Overcomes No. 46 Arizona on Final Day at Blue Gray Classic
February 23, 2020 | Men's Tennis
MONTGOMERY, Ala. – While the Princeton University men's tennis team fell to the No. 19 University of Mississippi in its opening match of the day, the Tigers bounced back to overcame the No. 46 University of Arizona 4-0 Saturday at the Blue Gray Tennis Classic.
"It was great to finish off the Blue Gray with a hard fought and important win against Arizona," said head coach Billy Pate. They are a great team and I'm proud of the way our guys raised their level while collectively fighting back Arizona's collective push to claw back in the match. We played with tremendous energy and confidence and this will be a great stepping stone for the matches ahead.
The Ole Miss match was a tough pill to swallow. We fought hard and put ourselves in a great position to win. Our guys were rightfully disappointed, but responded so well in bouncing back two hours later to beat Arizona."
