Men’s Track & Field Searches for Sixth-Straight Ivy Indoor Title

PRINCETON, N.J. – Beginning Saturday, the Princeton University men's track & field team will aim to win its sixth-straight indoor Ivy Heps Championships in Ithaca, New York.
A win would be the Tigers' 23rd Ivy indoor title and its eighth since 2010. Prelims on the track and finals in the field events will take place Saturday while Sunday will see finals on both the track and in the field events. Competition will start at 11 a.m. both days.

Princeton most recently hosted the Prince Invitational inside Jadwin Gymnasium on Sunday, February 23.
The Tigers have produced some of the top performances in the Ivy League this season and will be looking to carry that momentum over into Heps.
Sam Ellis holds the top time in the 1,000 of 2:22.26 and the second-fastest time in the mile of 3:57.66. Jeffrey Hollis' mark of 2.19 meters in the high jump tops the conference, as does Simen Guttormsen's mark of 5.32 meters in the pole vault.
The Tigers also have a pair of top-five times in the 3K as Conor Lundy is fifth at 7:58.30 and Ed Trippas is fifth at 8:03.61. Lundy also holds the second-fastest time of 14:00.33 in the 5K.
C.J. Licata's throw of 18.97 meters in the shot put is an Ivy-best while Kelton Chastulik's mark of 17.55 meters ranks third.
Princeton also holds a pair of top-five times in the 60 hurdles thanks to Christian Brown who is tied for second with a time of 8.03 and Taraje Whitfield who is tied for fifth with a time of 8.14.
In the triple jump, Dayo Abeeb's mark of 15.48 meters ranks second and Austin Princewill's ranks third with a mark of 15.30 meters. Aviram Shwarzbard's leap of 7.21 meters in the long jump ranks fourth in the Ivy League.
In the DMR the Tigers hold the second-fastest time of 10:06.62 ranks while it also ranks third in the 4x400 in 3:14.13. Princeton ranks fourth in the 4x800 relay with a time of 7:43.89 seconds.
Last Year at Heps
Princeton won the indoor title for the fifth-straight season witg 139.5 points, 28.5 points in front of Penn. Adam Kelly was named the Ivy Heps Most Outstanding Male Field Performer after winning his second-straight weight throw competition and Joey Daniels earned his second-straight indoor 60 hurdles crown. Licata earned a first-place finish in the shot put while Andrei Iosivas finished earned the heptathlon crown.
William M. Weaver Jr. '34 Head Coach of Men's Track & Field Fred Samara was honored as Ivy League Coach of the Year, earning unanimous honors, while nine other Tigers picked up All-Ivy honors. Princeton All-Ivy honorees included:
