Princeton Rolls Over Columbia, 77-55

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton Tigers collected their 13th straight victory with a 77-55 win over the Columbia Lions at Jadwin Gym on Saturday afternoon.
Bella Alarie (24) and Carlie Littlefield (19) paced the offense for Princeton with a combined 43 points while Abby Meyers added 10 off the bench. Alarie was 9-of-15 from the floor with three three-pointers and Littlefield made her first five baskets. The two-time Ivy Player of the Year added five rebounds, four assists, three blocks and a steal while Littlefield dropped in eight helpers and six caroms in the win.
The Tigers snagged 10 of the first 11 points and ran off with a 25-12 lead after 10 minutes. The Lions mustered just three makes in the frame while the Tigers sank 9-of-16 (56.3 percent).
A trey from Columbia's Kaitlyn Davis set the score at 27-17 a minute into the second stanza.
The road unit would make one bucket the rest of the half, going into the locker room with a 39-19 deficit. Alarie registered 16 of her 24 points in the first 20 minutes.
The Tigers led by as many as 31 in the second half, cruising to a victory. Head coach Carla Berube's team has rattled off 10 wins by more than 20 points this season. Today was the program's 21st straight victory over Columbia.
Princeton currently sits at 17-1 overall and 5-0 in the Ivy League, a half-game in front of Yale (5-1). Columbia fell to 11-8 this season and 2-4 in conference play. The Tigers head on the road next weekend to Yale and Brown.
