February 14, 2026 | Women's Basketball
ITHACA – The No. 24 Princeton Women's Basketball Team used a 44-15 second half to sprint by the Cornell Big Red, 59-38, at Newman Arena on Saturday afternoon.
The Tigers shot 15-of-27 (55.5 percent) in the second half after registering just 15 first half points.
After Cornell scored the first basket of the third quarter to go up 10, 25-15, Princeton ripped off 14 of the next 15, to go ahead, 29-26. Head coach Carla Berube's team finished off the third frame with a 9-2 run to jump ahead, 38-28, as the fourth quarter began.
Princeton did not let up in the fourth stanza, stretching its lead to 20, 51-31, at the media timeout. The Tigers led by as many as 24 in the final 10 minutes before wrapping up a 59-38 decision.
Berube's group allowed just four baskets in the second half. Its 38 points allowed is the lowest total since giving up that same number to Yale last season.
Madison St. Rose's two free throws gave the Tigers a 10-9 lead after the first quarter before Cornell outscored the road unit, 14-5, in the second stanza to hold a 23-15 lead at halftime.
That eight-point halftime deficit matches Princeton's largest of the season (Villanova).
St. Rose led the Tigers with 15 points and seven boards. Skye Belker (12) and Fadima Tall (11) also had double figures in the victory. The Tigers forced 20 turnovers with Olivia Hutcherson, Tall and Grace O'Sullivan each snagging three steals.
Princeton improves to 20-3 overall and 8-2 in the Ivy League while Cornell dropped to 8-15 and 3-7 in the conference. With the victory, Princeton has recorded at least 20 wins in each of the past eight seasons.
The Tigers welcome the Brown Bears to Jadwin Gym next Saturday (Feb. 21). Tip off is set for 5:30 p.m.
