No. 18 Men's Tennis Downs Penn State, 4-1
March 06, 2020 | Men's Tennis
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – The No. 18 Princeton University men's tennis team earned an impressive 4-1 victory over Big Ten opponent Pennsylvania State University inside the Penn State Indoor Tennis Center Friday evening.
"Good win for us on the road today," said head coach Billy Pate. "We haven't had the best luck in the past playing at Penn State but we had a great effort in singles in every spot. In doubles we got off to a slow start and that cost us, but I was pleased with how we responded."
Doubles
While the Nittany Lions won the doubles point, Bill Duo and Karl Poling picked up a 6-1 win over Noah Sutter and Chikaya Sato at the No. 3 position.
Singles
The Tigers quickly bounced back in singles as No. 124 Ryan Seggerman overcame Christos Antonopoulo 6-4, 6-2 at No. 2 then No. 113 Poling defeated Charl Morgan 6-4, 6-0 at the No. 1 position. Barki followed at No. 3 with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Gabriel Nemeth and at the No. 4 position Peters earned a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Alp Sentay.
