The victory was the Tigers' 11th-straight, and moved Princeton to a perfect 6-0 in conference play. Head Coach Sabrina King called a timeout as Princeton looked to regroup, and Luoma would deliver a spectacular kill following the timeout to make it 13-10. Princeton would eventually use a 3-0 run featuring a pair of Montgomery kills to tie it up at 20-20, but the Bulldogs held on for the 25-23 win in the set.
Sparked by a Montgomery block, the Tigers started the second set on a 3-0 run. Up 4-3, the Tigers then used a 6-0 run led off by a Luoma kill to create separation from Yale and take an 11-3 advantage. Sparked by a Schner kill, the Tigers used a 3-0 run jump head, 17-16. A Montgomery kill gave Princeton a 22-20 advantage, then Yale would a call a timeout and attempt to halt Princeton's momentum. It would be to no avail, as Princeton closed the set out on a 3-0 run and came out on top, 25-21.
An early 5-0 run led off by a Mahood kill gave Princeton an 8-2 advantage in the fourth set. The Tigers maintained their momentum throughout the set, taking a 17-10 lead following a Mahood kill. The Bulldogs showed resilience and would tie it up at 21-21, but a Montgomery kill out of a timeout swung the momentum back the Tigers' way.
