Women's Soccer Team to Host Cornell on Senior Day Saturday

A winner of three in a row and occupying a league-best 14th spot on the NCAA's RPI ranking, the Princeton women's soccer team will host its last regular-season game of the year on Saturday, recognizing its seniors around the 1 p.m. start against Cornell.

Princeton's nine-member senior class includes Grace Barbara, Emma Davis, Tatum Gee, Gabi Juarez, Olivia Kane, Aza Keohan, Caroline Noonan, Amy Paternoster and Lucy Rickerson. It's a group that includes members of two Ivy League championship and NCAA tournament teams in 2017 and 2018, and the group that advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals in 2017.
With two weeks left, Princeton stands 4-1 in the Ivy, three points back of Brown. The Bears will host Penn on Saturday night and can clinch at least a share of the Ivy title with a win. Brown holds the tiebreaker for the league's automatic NCAA bid thanks to its win over Princeton on Oct. 9.
On Princeton: The Tigers are 12-2-1 overall and 4-1 in the Ivy. Thirteen players, the most since 2011, have scored a goal, led by eight-goal scorer senior Gabi Juarez. In goal, lead keeper senior Grace Barbara is 8-2-1 with an 0.97 GAA.Â
On Cornell: The Lions are 3-9-2 overall and 1-4 in the Ivy. Five players, led by five-goal scorer Ava Laden, have scored a goal this year, and Miranda Iannone is the team's lead keeper with an 1.84 GAA.Â
Series History:Â Princeton leads the all-time series 29-7-4. Princeton has won 24 straight against the Big Red, with Cornell's last win in the series coming in 1995 in Princeton. No current Tiger has scored against the Big Red, and none has played in goal. Cornell keeper Nicole Shulman played a half in the 2019 game, allowing two goals in Princeton's 2-0 win in Princeton. The Tigers have a shutout streak in the series of 298:22, a run that began during the 2016 game.
