Cunningham's Double-Double Helps Women's Basketball Improve To 3-0

PRINCETON, N.J. – Julia Cunningham registered her first career double-double as the Princeton Tigers defeated the Boston University Terriers, 69-40, at Jadwin Gym on Sunday afternoon.

Cunningham led all scorers with 20 points on 6-of-10 shooting. Her 11 rebounds are personal best while also adding three steals. The junior was a +36 and drew six fouls.

Trailing by one, 5-4, Princeton ran off nine straight to go ahead, 13-5, following a trey by Cunningham with 3:43 left in the first quarter. The Tigers kept their distance from the Terriers, taking a 17-8 advantage after 10 minutes.

Princeton expanded its advantage to double digits in the second quarter and took a 29-18 advantage into halftime. The Tigers held the Terriers to six baskets in the first half.

In front, 31-21, two minutes into the second half, the Tigers used a 14-4 push to expand their advantage to 20, 45-25, as the clock ticked under 90 seconds. Boston University did not get within 19 the rest of the way.

The Tigers have now extended their winning streak to 25, the longest still in the NCAA. Princeton also have a home winning streak of 20.

Head coach Carla Berube's squad will now go back on the road to face Rhode Island on Saturday (Nov. 20). Tip-off is set for 1 p.m.
