Ivy Finale Set for Saturday at Penn
November 03, 2021 | Women's Soccer
A final chance to burnish an NCAA tournament résumé and, perhaps, a share of the Ivy League title are at stake on Saturday when Princeton heads to Penn for a 4 p.m. start in the Ivy League finale.

Princeton stands 13-2-1 overall and 5-1 in the Ivy. A win would give Princeton 14 wins in a season for the seventh time in program history and the third time in six competitive seasons under Sean Driscoll. A win, coupled with a Brown loss to Yale earlier Saturday, would give Princeton a share of the Ivy League title, which would be Princeton's 11th all-time. The Ivy's automatic NCAA berth would go to Brown thanks to the Bears' head-to-head win over Princeton on Oct. 9. The Tigers stand 19th in the RPI entering the week and will await the NCAA selection show on Monday at 4:30 p.m. ET on NCAA.com.Â
Princeton takes a four-game shutout streak into the weekend and hasn't allowed a goal in 397:42, since the loss at Brown. It is Princeton's longest shutout streak since the 2018 season, when Princeton went 401:59 without a goal. Should the Tigers go another regulation game without a goal, it'd be the team's longest single-season shutout streak since starting the 2017 season with 511:57 of shutout soccer. Senior Grace Barbara has been in goal for all but 90 minutes of the shutout streak, with Tyler McCamey playing against Lehigh.
Princeton has outscored its opponents 38-12 this season and has gotten goals from 14 different players, with Grace Sherman's goal against Cornell last week giving Princeton its most goal scorers since also seeing 14 players score in the 1999 season. Senior Gabi Juarez leads the team with eight goals.Â
Penn stands at 9-4-2 overall and 3-3 in the Ivy. The Quakers saw a three-game win streak snapped last week against Brown, 1-0 in Providence. The Tigers will try and accomplish something no other team has at Penn's Rhodes Field this season, and that's to leave with a win. Penn is 9-0 at home in 2021 and hasn't lost there since Princeton won in the 2019 Ivy finale.Â
Princeton has won three straight against Penn, all by 1-0 scores and with a shutout streak of 333:45, and is unbeaten in five straight, with Penn's last win over Princeton coming in 2014 in Princeton. In Philadelphia, Princeton has won three straight, also all by shutout, carrying a shutout streak at Penn of 324:23.Â
