Men's Basketball Overcomes Lafayette, 84-73

EASTON, Penn. – A 15-0 run late in the first half gave the Princeton University men's basketball team an advantage it would not relinquish, as it took down Lafayette College 84-73 Saturday afternoon inside the Kirby Sports Center.
The Tigers shot 55.2% from the field, going 32-for-58, and 51.7% from behind the three-point line, going 15-for-29. Princeton's 15 made three-pointers were a season-high, and handed out 19 assists, while out-rebounding the Leopards 36-27.
Senior Ethan Wright led the way with a game-high 22 points on 10-for-17 shooting, while also pulling down five rebounds and handing out four assists. He was one of three Tigers in double figures; senior Drew Friberg added 15 points, while senior Jaelin Llewellyn went 4-for-6 from the field and 3-for-4 from three to finish with 13 points.
Junior Tosan Evbuomwan was in triple double territory, as he finished with nine points, a career and game-high eight assists, and tied for the game-high in rebounds with seven.
Wright drove hard to the basket for the opening basket of the game with 19:00 on the clock, then a corner three by Llewellyn and a Friberg free throw saw the Tigers take a 5-4 lead at 16:11.
A Wright layup with 11:03 on the clock sparked a 15-0 Tiger run; Llewellyn knocked down a second-consecutive three-pointer with 5:44 left in the half to give Princeton a 16-point advantage, at 32-16. Sophomore Matt Allocco sank a three at 4:59 to key a 7-0 run, that gave the Tigers a 39-19 lead with 3:36 on the clock. Princeton would take a 41-28 advantage into halftime.
With 14:47 Wright cut back door then the dunked all over the Lafayette defense, despite the foul, sparking another 7-0 Princeton run that saw the Tigers take a 61-39 lead with 13:38 left to play following a three-pointer by senior Drew Friberg.
