Beth Yeager Named First-Team All-American
December 14, 2021 | Field Hockey
Beth Yeager. That's the list, all of it.
What list? The list of Princeton field hockey players who have been named first-team All-American as a freshman.
Yeager made another piece of history yesterday when she became Princeton's first freshman to be named a first-team All-American when the NFCHA team was announced. In addition to being Princeton's first freshman All-American, she was also the only freshman on the NFCHA first-team this year.
Yeager was also a first-team All-American by Synapse Sports and the national freshman of the year by Bolster Field Hockey.
"We're all so happy to see Beth honored this way," says Princeton head coach Carla Tagliente. "To be the only freshman on the team says so much about the player she is and the respect she's already earned on the national level. We're excited to see where the rest of her career goes, and we can't wait to get started for next season."
Yeager set a Princeton freshman record by scoring 16 goals in 14 games, as she missed the final three games of the year due to injury. She was second in Division I in goals per game and third in Division I in points per game, and she has already been named the Ivy League Offensive Player of the Year, Ivy League Rookie of the Year, a first-team All-Region selection and a first-team All-Ivy League selection.
