Women’s Track & Field to Compete at Fast Times Before Finals

PRINCETON, N.J. – After opening its season at the Princeton Invitational last Sunday, the Princeton University women's track & field team is set to compete at Fast Times Before Finals on the campus of Rowan University on Saturday, May 1.
The meet is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. inside Coach Richard Wackar Stadium. Student-athletes from Monmouth University, Lincoln University (Pa.), The College of New Jersey, Ramapo College, Delaware Valley University, Wilmington University (Del.), Jefferson University (Pa.), The College of Staten Island and the University of Valley Forge will also be attending.
Last Time Out
The Tigers will look to continue the momentum they built at the Princeton Invitational, where they set seven new school all-time top-10 marks.
Competing in her first collegiate meet, Kate Joyce set a new program record in the javelin with a throw of 50.44 meters. She topped the previous record of 48.01 meters set by Rylie Pease at the University of North Florida in 2019.
Two Tigers earned spots in Princeton's all-time top-10 in the triple jump; after a leap of 12.56 meters, Kara Steele moved up to No. 2 and after a mark of 11.95 meters Tia Rozario moved up to No. 9.
Casey Burton had a memorable debut at the collegiate level, producing the fifth-best all-time mark in school outdoor long jump history of 5.77 meters. Rozario also moved into Princeton's all-time top-10 in the long jump thanks to her mark of 5.71 meters.
In the hammer throw, Luisa Chantler Edmond's heave of 53.69 meters was the sixth-best all-time mark in school history.
Julia Harisay also earned a spot in the all-time top-10 in the javelin following a throw of 40.20 meters, which saw her move up to No. 9.
