May 01, 2021 | Women's Track and Field
GLASSBORO, N.J. – The Princeton University women's track & field team continued its outstanding form at the Fast Times Before Finals Meet, winning 12 events and earning three school all-time top-10 performances Saturday inside Coach Richard Wackar Stadium.
"This season was very short due to COVID, yet our women absolutely made the most of their opportunities," said head coach Michelle Eisenreich. "Not only did we win nearly every event we were entered in, we had some huge PR performances as well. I want to give a special shout out to Isabella Hilditch who clocked a college best in the 100m hurdles for the win as well as a lifetime best in the 200m for the top spot. In the field, Luisa Chantler Edmond crushed her life time best in the discus to finish second behind teammate Obiageri Amaechi and then went on to nearly match her PR in the hammer from last weekend for the win. If there is anything we learned from these two meets, it is that our women are hungry and will be ready to compete with the best the Ivy League has to offer next year!"
Chantler Edmond had a tremendous day; her mark of 47.03 meters in the discus was the sixth-furthest all-time mark in school history as she finished second in the event and bested previous PR of 42.83 meters set at Heps in 2019. Obiageri Amaechi won the event thanks to a throw of 55.57 meters and Julia Harisay finished third with a mark of 43.14 meters.
In the hammer throw, Chantler Edmond also prevailed after a 53.18-meter heave.
Hilditch finished first in the 200 thanks to her time of 24.57, which was the ninth-fastest time in school history. It topped her previous PR of 25.83 from the Princeton Invitational last weekend. Hilditch also won the 100 hurdles with a time of 13.75.
Kate Joyce won the javelin, hitting a mark of 46.92 meters. Harisay finished third with a throw of 40.39 meters, the ninth-furthest all-time mark in school history. This bests her previous PR of 40.20 meters set at the Princeton Invitational last weekend. Olivia Hee also won the long jump, jumping a distance of 5.32 meters and Kara Steele won the triple jump thanks to an 11.88-meter mark.
India Ingemi clocked in at 57.93 to win the 400 meters while Arianna Smith won the 400 hurdles in 1:02.98 along with Page Lester in the 1,500 in 4:38.27. Katherine Leggat-Barr was also victorious in the 5,000 with a time of 16:59.74.
In the high jump, Emily Garner finished first after a leap of 1.64 meters. She topped her mark of 1.60 meters from the Princeton Invitational, her previous PR.
