Men’s Track & Field Trio Produce Outstanding Performances

PRINCETON, N.J. – Sondre Guttormsen and Simen Guttormsen of the Princeton University men's track & field team rewrote the record book over the weekend while incoming freshman Phil Kastner produced an outstanding performance in the decathlon.
Competing at the Chula Vista High Performance Meet, Sondre Guttormsen, cleared a world class mark of 5.81 meters, 19'3/4'' to set a new school record. His mark bested the previous school record of 5.53 meters (18'1.75'') set by Adam Bragg '16 at Heps in 2016.
Simen Guttormsen cleared the bar at the historic 5.50-meter level for the first time, 18'1/2''. This saw him move up to No. 3 on the Tigers' all-time list.
Kastner broke the 7,000-point level in the decathlon with a score of 7,042 points in Montpellier, France. Competing in his first decathlon using senior (collegiate) implements and hurdles, he recorded numerous outstanding marks in including 23'6'' in the long jump, 6'66'' in the high jump, 49.4 in the 400 hurdles and 14.86 in the 110 hurdles.
