Tokyo Olympics: Johnson '17 and U.S. Rebound For Impressive Win Over ROC

TOKYO – The United States women's water polo easily disposed the Russian Olympic Committee, 18-5, to complete pool play during the 2020 Olympics on Friday.
The U.S. scored seven of the first eight goals of the game and were not really threatened the rest of the way. The two-time defending gold medal winners led 9-3 at the break and 15-4 after three quarters en route to the victory.
Ashleigh Johnson '17 was sparkling as she recorded 16 stops in the victory. While the United States is finished with pool play, Group A and B still have one day of action left before the quarterfinals begin on August 3rd.
