PHILADELPHIA, Penn. – The Princeton University women's volleyball team earned a 3-0 (25-12, 25-21, 25-20) victory over Villanova University in its first match at the City Classic Friday afternoon inside McGonigle Hall.
Juniors Avery Luoma and Elena Montgomery led the match in kills with 12 each, while junior Lindsey Kelly had a match-high 39 assists. Senior Julia Schner's three blocks were a match-high, as were junior Cameron Dames' 12 digs. Sophomore Krystal Raymundo also added a match-high three service aces.

While the Wildcats halted their run, Princeton continued to build on its advantage and took a 14-3 lead on a Luoma kill that preceded a Villanova timeout. The two teams traded points to open the third set, until at 7-7 a 3-0 run sparked by a Schewe kill gave Princeton a 10-7 lead. Princeton did not look back, and ahead 20-18 used a 3-0 run featuring a Schewe service ace along with a pair of Wildcat attacking errors to jump ahead 23-18.
