Men’s Track and Field Posts Strong Performance in Annapolis

ANNAPOLIS, MD – The Princeton University men's track and field team delivered an exceptional performance despite falling to Navy, 90-86. The Tigers set six top-10 school performances during the meet.
Ibrahim Ayorinde's 6.78 in the 60 meters moves him into fifth all-time, surpassing Justice Dixon's 6.79 at the HEPs in 2020. Meanwhile, Simang'aliso Ndhlovu (6.77) took first in the event, while Greg Sholars and Daniel Duncan tied for third (6.80).
Ayorinde set another top-10 record in the 200 meters, going into second place with a time of 21.37. That mark eclipses Austin Hollimon's 21.54 from the 2011 HYPs. Daniel Duncan was second (21.56), good enough for fourth all-time. Sholar's (21.97) finished third.
Michael Phillippy came in first in the 400 meters (47.54) with a time that's fourth best in program history. William Doyle (48.19) placed second.
In the 800 meters, Sam Rodman's first place time of 1:50.20 is now sixth all-time. Meanwhile, Ethan Reese's 1:50.67 places him tenth.
In the 60-meter hurdles, Jovan Aigbekaen (8.31) earned second place, followed by Taraje Whitfield (8.36) in third.
The 1000 meters event saw Connor Nisbet (2:27.77) pick up second and Sebastian Fisher (2:27.84) get third.
Anthony Monte (8:04.08) and Matthew Farrell (8:05.27) finished second and third respectively in the 3,000m.
The team of Andersen Dimon, Ethan Reese, Sam Rodman, and William Doyle (3:19.94) earned first in the 4x400 meter relay, while the team of Connor Chen, Sebastian Fisher, Connor Nisbet, and Camren Fischer (7:52.99) were second in the 4x800 meter relay.
Wrapping up the final track results, Andersen Dimon took first place in the 500 meters, going 1:04.32. In the mile, Camren Fischer collected second with a time of 4:06.17. Finally, in the 5000 meters, Jakob Kintzele (14:40.62) earned second.
C.J. Licata nabbed first in the shot put with a throw of 18.94 with Tyler Konopka (16.32) taking second. Sebastian Clatworthy was victorious in the high jump (2.05m). Will Drury (4.70 m) was third in the pole vault.
Next up: The Tigers will return to Navy on Friday, January 21st to compete in the Wesley Brown Invitational.
