Men’s Tennis Drops First Match of the Season to NC State
January 20, 2022 | Men's Tennis
RALEIGH N.C. – The Princeton University men's tennis team fell 6-1 against the NC State Wolfpack, Thursday afternoon at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center.
"I'm proud of our team's fight in our first dual match back in about 22 months," said Head Coach Billy Pate. "NC State has a very solid team and played well on their home courts. It was good to see some of our freshmen get an opportunity in a tough match. We'll learn from this and get back to work this week in preparation for Florida."
Playing in the No. 1 position, Ryan Seggerman dispatched NC State's Rafa Izquierdo Luque 7-6, 7-6 to put the Tigers on the board. Meanwhile, in the No. 2 position, Damian Rodriguez gave the No. 36 ranked Robin Catry all he could handle, winning the first set 6-4 and really challenging Catry in the third and final set.
