Princeton Women's Hockey Well Represented at Beijing Games

When the 2022 Olympic Games start in Beijing on Wednesday night Eastern Time, the Princeton women's hockey program will be well represented.
Two Tigers, in Claire Thompson '20 and Sarah Fillier '24, are part of Canada's team. Kim Newell '16 is a goalie on China's team. In the middle of it all is Kelly Cooke '13, whose officiating career has taken her to the American Hockey League and now to the Games.Â
All will be making their Games debut.
Thompson stands fifth among defensemen on Princeton's all-time scoring list with 87 career points on 31 goals and 56 assists, and Fillier finished her sophomore season in 2020 with 22 goals and 35 assists for the second straight year, giving her 70 assists and 114 points to stand already more than halfway to Princeton's career records for assists (122) and points (218).
Fillier, who competed her sophomore season in 2019-20, earned AHCA All-America honors in each of her first two seasons as well as All-ECAC and All-Ivy, and Thompson was an All-ECAC honoree twice during her career, All-Ivy three times and an Academic All-Ivy selection.

Cooke was a four-time ECAC All-Academic honoree and won a pair of team awards, including earning the Elizabeth English Trophy in 2013 as the team's most valuable player and the 2012 Most Improved Player honor.
