Women’s Hockey to Meet UConn in NCAA First Round

After making its first ECAC Hockey semifinal since 2022, the Princeton Women's Hockey hockey team has been selected for the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2020.

The Tigers learned their NCAA first round destination on Sunday morning when the bracket was announced on ESPNU.

Princeton will take on UConn on Thursday, March 12 at 7 p.m. at Penn State.

This will be Princeton's fifth bid to the NCAA tournament. Princeton previously qualified in 2006, 2016, 2019 and 2020, but the 2020 NCAA tournament was canceled just before play began due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

At 23 wins, Princeton has its second-most wins in program history this season, trailing only that 2020 team, which finished with 26 wins. Princeton counts the Ivy League Player of the Year in Issy Wunder, who leads the team with 27 goals this season. Princeton won its first ECAC Regular Season championship this season, finishing alongside Yale atop the conference with 46 points.
